We often recommend a recover — new self-adhered underlayment with the original tiles reinstalled using ring-shank nails — rather than a full tear-off.

**Storm damage.** A single heavy rain event can expose every weak point. We've seen wind lift starter courses, hail dent metal flashing, and debris puncture shingles.
